Ever Feel Like Something is Missing?

Ever Feel Like Something is Missing?

This is for people who have tried everything and are ready to give up. There is hope.

Maybe it feels like a hole in your chest. Like a gaping, suffocating, emptiness inside you. It torments you every day, sitting in the back of your mind like a bothersome leach. Something is missing, you can feel it. And no matter what you try to fill it with, may it be drugs, sex, dissociation, adrenaline, friends, parties, nothing seems to work. Every night you have to come back to the reality that it's still there, and it hurts. The anxiety, the depression, the suicidal thoughts, it all comes back. This is the common experience for those who don't know Jesus. We live in a hurting and broken world, and Satan wants you to stay in this never-ending cycle of pain and helplessness. Sin runs rampant on earth; every human has sinned (1). God is a just and holy god; this means that he can't stand sin (2). Our sin separates us from him, and the price we have to pay for this separation is death (3). You know what I call that? Bad news. But guess what? There is good news. God loves you, his creation, (4) that he sent his one and only son Jesus to die for you.  This sacrifice makes us right with God (5), gives us a free gift of peace (6), and saves us from hell. Sin requires a sacrifice to "fix" it. Jesus's death atoned every single sin, past present, and future. So if you are on your last leg, your last bit of strength, your last little bit of will to live, this is it. This is what you are looking for. That hole we talked about earlier? The only thing that can and will ever fill it is Jesus. If you are ready to accept Jesus as your Lord, you need to turn away from your sins and turn to God. You can do this by speaking out loud to him wherever you are, he can hear you. You need to recognize and tell him that you are a sinner in need of a savior, and accept him as this savior. Surrender your life to him, and he will give you so, so, much more. This isn't a one and done deal though. Now that you are with God, you are going to be attacked even harder by Satan. The best way to combat this (spiritual warfare) is by reading the Bible (the living word), praying (talking to God), and surrounding yourself with other believers. These resources are a big help. If you aren't convinced, then I hope I at least gave you some food for thought. Keep in mind Jesus is coming back soon, and you don't know when you are going to die. Do some digging. This is a matter of life or death. Choose wisely.

Ephesians 3:19

"May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God."
